The Organisation

Airservices Australia is a government owned organisation providing safe, secure, efficient and environmentally responsible services to the aviation industry. 

Each year we manage over four million aircraft movements carrying more than 156 million passengers, and provide air navigation services across 11 per cent of the world’s airspace. 

Airservices Australia has two major operating centres in Melbourne and Brisbane and a corporate office in Canberra. We operate 29 air traffic control towers at international and regional airports, and provide aviation rescue firefighting services at 27 Australian Airports.

The Role

As the Rostering Officer, you will support Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting Services through the provision of efficient and effective service to managers, supervisors and staff through the accurate creation and maintenance of rosters. You will also provide support related to staff movements, workforce planning and the development of frameworks, policies and processes.

The Person

This role requires superior administration skills, a lateral thinker with strong service delivery focus of on-time production, optimisation and cost effective production of high quality rosters.

Crucial to the success of this role, is the ability to communicate with high levels of management combined with well-developed research and analytical skills.

To be considered for this position you will be an outcome and results driven individual with a high level of attention to detail and problem solving skills. Rostering or scheduling experience is desirable and a strong customer service ethos and computer literacy skills are all essential for you to succeed in the role.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Demonstrated competent level of liaison, interpersonal and effective oral and written communication skills, combined with well-developed research and analytical skills.
  • Developed organisational and problem solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, work under pressure and under limited supervision.
  • Ability to think laterally and solve difficult rostering problems, whilst striving for and achieving operational excellence and business efficiencies.
