Airservices is a government owned organisation providing safe, secure, efficient and environmentally responsible services to the aviation industry. Each year we manage over four million aircraft movements carrying more than 156 million passengers, and provide air navigation services across 11 per cent of the world’s airspace.
As a Data Analyst you will play a key role in responding to data and analysis requests by internal and external customers. You are also expected to assist with the development of new methodologies to evaluate business and industry performance.
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience and skills in data science, numerical analysis, machine learning, statistics, or mathematics. You will enjoy extracting and analysing complex data, undertaking modelling & analysis studies, developing analysis methods and producing effective reports to present results to wide audiences.
The person will be an enthusiastic team member that contributes new ideas to further enhance our current capabilities.You also enjoy researching and learning new skills and adapting to a variety of challenges.
You will be an effective team player and communicator, with a professional approach to establishing collaborative and productive working relationships with your team and stakeholders.
You will be a part of a small team (9 members) of data scientists, modellers, analysts and subject matter experts, responsible for the provision of analytic services and actionable intelligence across Airservices groups.
Working in this team will give you the opportunity to work on interesting analytics problems, delivering insights to many areas of the business and airline customers, ranging from airport-level to national airspace changes.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will have:
- Qualifications and experience in data science, numerical analysis, machine learning, statistics, or mathematics.
- Experience using Python, Matlab, C, R, Java or an equivalent language.
- SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a small, multi-disciplinary technical team.
- Ability to write reports and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
